Piedmont Prostate Center was created in 2005 by Dr. John Leung  to offer state of the art prostate brachytherapy services.  Prostate Brachytherapy better know as Prostate Seed Implantation is the insertion of Radioactive pellets or seeds into the prostate to treat a potentially life threatening illness called prostate cancer.  Prostate Seed Implantations have been commonly performed for prostate cancer since the early 1990's.  It is a well established form of prostate cancer treatment and is an alternative to prostate cancer surgery and external beam radiation therapy in selected patients.  The advantages of prostate seed implants may include high cure rates, convenience (one time procedure), and very quick recovery (usually one to two days).

Dr. John Leung is a board certified Radiation Oncologist who has specialized in prostate implants since 1995.  Dr.John Leung has created an exciting new approach to prostate seed implants.  These procedures can now be done as an in office treatment avoiding costly hospitalizations and potentially risky aneasthesia.

Accepted by over ten urology centers throughout North Carolina, many physicians and patients can attest to its efficacy and safety.
